On Sunday 29 July NAKADiA from Thailand will debut on Tomorrowland for a 2 hour techno set together with Fred Hush from Belgium. Sharing the decks with legendary techno pioneers Richie Hawtin & Sven Väth and Nina Kraviz, Len Faki, Boris Brejcha and Rob Hes. An incredible line-up!
Nakadia Mungphanklang now sometimes jets between multiple countries in a day herself, but Thailand's most prominent underground techno DJ and producer grew up without running water, let alone turntables.
"My friends and I used to go for picnics in the rice fields,"–says Nakadia. "It was exciting to get away, but even then, we were never more than a few minutes from the village".
Set in the northeast of the country, along the Laotian and Cambodian borders, Nakadia's home re- gion of Isaan is the country's largest and historically one of its poorest. Born as a farmer's daugh- ter, nobody expected this cute little girl would change the music scene of her country, as Nakadia most certainly has done. Nakadia was always open-minded and looking for new experiences, which took her through various jobs, until she came to Europe in 2002.
"My brother bought me a ghetto blaster when I was 14, I used to sit outside the house playing mu- sic for the neighbors." –says Nakadia.
Having now performed over 1,500 shows in 66 countries headlining events like ANTS and elrow in Ibiza, Watergate in Berlin, REX in Paris, D-Edge in Sao Paulo and The Egg in London, she is proud to represent her country on Tomorrowland's final Sunday 29 July. Nakadia is loved for her gratefulness and honesty and her incredible energy behind the decks thats touches and moves crowds worldwide.
As mentioned in in the trailer of Tomorrowland; “.....take a closer look and discover....” definitely also counts for NAKADiA. If you don't know her yet, check her out on Sunday 29th of July.
